a little about me

Aloha nui! I'm Kemaki, you can call me Kem, Kemmi, or Maki.I am from the island of O'ahu, Hawai'i, born and raised. I'm proud to say I am kanaka maoli, ilocano, visayan, portuguese, and swedish mainly. Aside from art, I enjoy playing with my dogs, playing open world survival games, taking care of my fish tanks and koi pond, and—as of this year—gardening food plants and trees.I've had an interest in drawing since I was a toddler, inspired by my dad's sketches of local reef fish, and later nurtured by friends who drew characters from their favorite manga and anime. About 2010/11 is when I fully transitioned to digital media. My first program was a copy of PS CS3 from a graphics communication elective I had in high school, then I was introduced to PaintTool SAI. Today, I experiment with Krita, Clip Studio Paint, and Procreate.I started with commissions for virtual currency via GaiaOnline, and have since moved onto taking commissions through Discord, Instagram, and Artistree. While I've had the honor of working in collaboration with many amazing Pasifika artists and authors, I still enjoy doing private commissions. Interested? Get in touch!

You hereby understand that you will be receiving a high resolution digital image formatted for personal online use (not suitable for printing).Commissions will have my signature on the bottom left.Turn-Around Time (TAT) is not absolute. Commissions maybe finished a lot sooner or later than quoted depending on workload and real life priorities. Rest assured I will communicate with you to the best of my abilities.

By submitting a form and/or inquiring about a commission, you voluntarily and explicitly agree to adhere to these terms.

I, as the artist, reserve the following rights...
✽I retain sole rights to my intellectual property and copyrights over the artwork and designs that I produce
✽I reserve the right to post artwork to my social media accounts, website(s), and portfolios for the express purpose of promoting myself
✽I reserve the right to decline, cancel, and issue refunds at my sole discretion for a commission at any time for any reason within accordance with these terms
✽I reserve the right to update prices, fees, forms, and services at any time for any reason.
✽I reserve the right to block and blacklist anyone who not only breach these terms but make me feel uncomfortable in any way

You, as the client, have the following rights...
✽You reserve all rights to your intellectual property (including character concepts and design if you created them)
✽You reserve the right to cancel at any time for any reason
✽You reserve the right to personal use of finalized artwork; which includes, but is not limited to: sharing on social media, using as profile pics, adding to galleries, giving as a gift to friends and family, or using as a ref to provide for other artists
✽You reserve the right to a lifetime service of adjustments to signature/watermarks, free of charge, no questions asked. However, you understand that I will not remove nor make them unrecognizable.

YOU MAY NOT DO THE FOLLOWING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES:
✽partially or completely removing or cropping out my watermark signature
✽taking or withholding credit for the artwork
✽commercial use without prior agreement for licensure (any means of reproducing, duplicating, modifying, and distributing for some form of profit)
✽minting artwork as NFTs or anything related to NFT
✽using my artwork to feed into a dataset for the purposes of training an AI image generating program and/or reproducing my artwork, or otherwise anything related to the support of AI generated works
✽forcing a refund by filing a chargeback

CANCELLATION POLICY
Feel free to cancel the commission at any time for any reason. All you have to do is inform me of your decision clearly.If there is a lack of response from you for 21 days, the commission will be canceled.

REFUND POLICY
There will be no refunds. The sole exception is if you cancel prior to receiving a WIP (work-in-progress) update, in which case I will process no more than an 80% refund. Please carefully consider your decision in commissioning me.
